Gyeonggi Office of Education Expands Neulbom Program Beyond Schools
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will expand the Neulbom programs, which utilize local human and material resources, beyond schools to support elementary students in need of educational care.
On the 15th, the Office announced that it will officially operate the 'Neulbom Shared School' to address the shortage of school space and reduce regional educational disparities.
The Neulbom Shared School is a community-based, school-outside hub-type Neulbom program.
Since last year, the Office has piloted this project at the regional level to disperse the concentrated demand for Neulbom programs in oversized and overcrowded schools and to support high-quality educational care in small schools where it is difficult to open programs due to poor educational environments or low student numbers.
This year, the Office will strengthen the role of the Neulbom Support Center to support the operation of school Neulbom programs and expand the hub-type Neulbom Shared School programs throughout the province. Through this, it plans to enable elementary students who wish to participate in quality programs both inside and outside schools without regional exclusion.
