"Easy for Foreign Colleagues to Understand"… Hanwha Ocean Improves Welding Quality with Pictograms
Hanwha Ocean has taken steps to improve welding quality by using pictograms that foreign workers can easily understand.
Hanwha Ocean announced on the 15th that it created pictograms for 10 essential welding work items and posted them throughout the Geoje plant. The explanations are provided in eight languages, including English, Nepali, and Myanmar, receiving great responses from foreign colleagues on site.
Hanwha Ocean recently experienced an increase in shipbuilding volume, leading to a rise in new welding technicians, including foreigners. The pictograms were created not only for new welders but also to help experienced technicians intuitively understand and comply with basic quality requirements.
Hanwha Ocean plans to continuously promote adherence to basic welding quality through the company IPTV and maintain on-site guidance activities using the pictograms.
