Artist Jeong Younghoon to Exhibit Over 50 Works at the 2024 World Art Expo
Transcending Boundaries and Dimensions of Art in the Metaverse Era: Transferring Art to an Infinite World
Jeong Young-hoon, a first-generation multimedia artist and regarded as the starter of Media Sculpture, will showcase over 50 works at the '2024 World Art Expo' held from the 15th to the 18th at COEX, 3rd floor, Hall C in Seoul.
Under the theme Blue Prologue, this exhibition will present works that formalize Buddhism’s modernization, modern Buddhism, and modern bodhisattvas into contemporary art, based on traditional rituals, universal cultural consciousness and structures, and schemas.
This exhibition, which offers a glimpse into the changes of the new era and the future of art through NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens), Metaverse, and more, allows visitors to observe the evolutionary process from the birth, popularization, and universalization of NFTs to their transformation in value as NFT art.
Additionally, the physical artworks were created using a ceramic print firing technique on porcelain plates. This method, which fuses traditional techniques with modern printing technology, was used for the first time in the world. Through this, over 50 diverse works such as ‘Hoshin Bosal-Anandara,’ ‘Hoshin Bosal-Amachara,’ ‘Hoshin Bosal-Amarina,’ and ‘Hoshin Bosal-Anandaya’ will be exhibited.
Jeong Young-hoon said, "Through this exhibition, I want to log in with art recipients using the ticket called NFT to the ‘first door that might be the last.’ We will embark on a new journey as one of the passengers heading through the gateway of the Metaverse using art as a medium."
