Gwangju University Selected as 'University Certified for Internationalization Competency in Education' by the Ministry of Education
Gwangju University has been selected as an accredited university for degree programs and language training programs in the '2023 Internationalization Quality Assurance System (IEQAS)' evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education, thereby receiving official recognition for its global educational capabilities.
Following its selection as an accredited university, Gwangju University will gain momentum in participating in overseas advanced university education, expanding sisterhood ties, engaging in international exchange activities, and attracting outstanding international students for two years from March 2024 to February 2026.
Additionally, by maintaining the Internationalization Quality Assurance certification, international students applying to Gwangju University will benefit from visa issuance screening and extended stay period limits with only a standard admission letter. Prospective master's and doctoral students will be eligible for electronic visa issuance regardless of nationality. Other benefits include additional points for the government-sponsored scholarship (GKS) program, preferential participation in overseas Korean study fairs, and simplified visa issuance procedures for international students.
The university will be listed on the Ministry of Education's official 'Study in Korea Comprehensive System,' introduced in 11 languages, serving as a study guide for international students and foreign governments.
