Former KMA President Choi Dae-jip Files Complaint Against Ministry of Health and Welfare Minister and Vice Minister Over 'Order to Prohibit Acceptance of Resignation Letter'
Im Hyuntaek, President of the Pediatric and Adolescent Medical Association, Also Files Complaint Against Minister and Vice Minister of Health and Welfare on the 12th
Choi Dae-jip, former president of the Korean Medical Association, filed a complaint against Minister Cho Gyu-hong and Vice Minister Park Min-su of the Ministry of Health and Welfare at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
According to the medical community on the 13th, former President Choi filed a complaint against Minister Cho and Vice Minister Park on charges of abuse of authority. He also requested an investigation into whether their declaration to collect residents' mobile phone information constitutes a violation of the Personal Information Protection Act.
Former President Choi judged that the government's order to nationwide training hospitals to "prohibit acceptance of collective resignation letters" due to the possibility of collective resignation by residents constitutes obstruction of business and abuse of authority in exercising rights against the training hospitals. He also pointed out that Vice Minister Park's announcement at a press briefing to collect mobile phone information of 15,000 residents has legal issues.
Earlier, Im Hyun-taek, president of the Korean Pediatric Society, also filed a complaint with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency the previous day against Minister Cho and Vice Minister Park for unauthorized collection of personal information, intimidation, and coercion.

President Im explained the background of the complaint, saying, "They unlawfully collected personal contact information of about 15,000 residents and publicly announced through the media that they would use it to intimidate residents with orders to commence work and other measures. The Vice Minister proudly disclosed his illegal actions. The Ministry of Health and Welfare, an administrative agency that should comply with the Constitution and protect the people, is absolutely unacceptable in ignoring the basic human rights of the people, unlawfully collecting residents' personal information, and threatening to use it to cause disadvantages."
