Sam Altman: "Teenagers Who Will Use AI Lifelong Have Abundant Opportunities"
"Currently AI is at the level of black-and-white phones... Will be amazed within 10 years"
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the developer of the generative artificial intelligence (AI) ChatGPT, stated on the 13th (local time) that the youth generation who will use AI technology throughout their lives will have great fortune and opportunities.
On the same day, CEO Altman spoke via video at the 2024 World Government Summit (WGS) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), during a panel discussion.

View original imageWhen Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of AI and Digital Economy and the panel moderator, asked for advice on what young people around the world should do in the AI era and whether they should worry about losing their jobs, CEO Altman replied, "First, I would say they are incredibly lucky." He added, "Young people who understand AI technology and always adapt first to new technologies will be able to do things with AI that were previously unimaginable," and predicted, "Young people will be full of opportunities and abilities to do amazing things using AI technology throughout their lives."
He also anticipated rapid advancements in AI technology, saying, "Currently, AI technology is at the level of early black-and-white mobile phone models, but it will be much better in a few years and will be quite astonishing within 10 years."
Meanwhile, during the discussion, CEO Altman mentioned plans to raise up to $7 trillion (approximately 9,307 trillion KRW) in investment to establish an independent AI semiconductor company. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 9th that CEO Altman is in contact with global investors to establish an AI semiconductor company. One of the main candidates is known to be funded by the UAE.
