In-Person Registration at Small Sports Center in Hangang-ro Until End of This Month
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is recruiting 10 students for the toddler ballet class until the end of this month. This class was newly established to promote physical education for young children.
The recruitment target is children aged 5 to 6 (born in 2018?2019), regardless of gender. Classes will be held twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 5:20 PM for 50 minutes at the multipurpose room on the 3rd floor of the Hangang-ro Small-scale Sports Center (20, Ichon-ro 29-gil, Yongsan-gu).
The tuition fee is 40,000 KRW per month. The first class will be held on March 6. Residents who wish to participate can inquire and register in person at the Hangang-ro Small-scale Sports Center.
A district official stated, “We plan to enthusiastically teach basic ballet movements and stretching methods to children interested in ballet,” adding, “It will contribute not only to improving flexibility and muscle strength but also to forming correct posture and emotional stability.”
Toddler ballet especially helps improve physical control such as muscle development, flexibility, balance, and posture correction. It also aids in developing self-expression and artistic expression skills, as well as enhancing spatial awareness needed to perform movements.
The Hangang-ro Small-scale Sports Center, where the classes are held, opened in 2019. Located at the filming site of the drama ‘My Mister,’ known as Ddaengddaenggeori (Baekbin Crossing), it has one basement floor and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 224.48㎡.
It is equipped with ▲resident communication space ▲offices ▲women’s and disabled restrooms (1st floor) ▲fitness center ▲men’s restrooms (2nd floor) ▲multipurpose room ▲women’s restrooms (3rd floor) ▲outdoor exercise facilities (rooftop), and operates various programs such as health, yoga, and line dance from 6 AM to 10 PM Monday through Saturday (9 AM to 6 PM on Saturdays).
Usage fees range from 15,000 KRW to 45,000 KRW per month. The multipurpose room can be rented for 10,000 KRW per hour. Parking is not available.
Starting in March, the district will also operate the ‘Hangang-ro Neighborhood Learning Center’ using the resident communication space on the 1st floor and the multipurpose room on the 3rd floor of the center. The first programs are ‘My Own Pretty Handwriting: Sign Pen and Brush Pen Calligraphy’ and ‘Seasonal Hand Knitting,’ each held 10 times from March to May. Registration is open from February 26 to March 8 via the district’s comprehensive education portal. Tuition is free (materials cost separate).
