Promotion of 'Youth Store Development Project' Supporting Rent and Remodeling Costs for Young Entrepreneurs
Recruiting Residents Aged 19-39 Aspiring to Start Businesses at Mokdong Rodeo Street Until the 16th
Up to 10 Million Won for Remodeling, Monthly Rent Support Up to 1 Million Won for One Year... Total Support Up to 22 Million Won
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it will promote a youth store (enterprise) development project targeting prospective young entrepreneurs in the Mokdong Rodeo Street commercial district to revitalize the local economy and create youth jobs.
This project was established to support stable startups through step-by-step assistance, from securing initial startup funds such as rent and remodeling costs to startup education and 1:1 customized consulting, for young people wishing to start new businesses in the Mokdong Rodeo Street commercial district, and to foster anchor stores that play a key role in the commercial district.
Previously, since the first operation of the youth store development project in 2018, the district has supported a total of 27 youth stores with 370 million KRW, helping startups in various industries such as restaurants, pet food stores, eco-friendly flower shops, and side dish stores.
In particular, the Korean traditional dessert cafe specialty store "Chamsae Gwajabang," selected as a youth store last year, has been playing a vital role in revitalizing the Mokdong Rodeo commercial district, attracting attention. This place sells bungeoppang with various ingredients along with coffee and also operates a delivery service. It has established itself as a popular restaurant where young people can experience the nostalgic winter food culture and memories of the 70s and 80s, making it a successful case of a youth store.
This year, the district is looking for passionate young entrepreneurs who will breathe new life into Mokdong Rodeo Street and lead the future of the local commercial district. The recruitment target is young residents aged 19 to 39 who wish to start a store (enterprise) in the Mokdong Rodeo Street commercial district.
The district provides a "1:1 Startup Consulting" service that supports basic startup education such as commercial district analysis and marketing for four weeks and startup design counseling to young entrepreneurs who pass the first document screening. Based on this, a second business plan presentation screening will be conducted to comprehensively evaluate startup competitiveness and readiness (completeness) to select the final successful candidates.
The finally selected young entrepreneurs will receive support of up to 10 million KRW within 50% of remodeling costs for stores, and up to 1 million KRW per month within 50% of monthly rent for one year from the agreement date.
Youth wishing to start a business in Mokdong Rodeo Street can check the required documents on the district office website's notice or public announcement board, fill them out, and apply by email to the person in charge by the 16th of this month.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "I hope this project becomes a support base for young people struggling with high inflation and economic recession to realize their dreams of starting a business, and furthermore, serves as an opportunity to revitalize the local commercial district. We will continue to create a stable startup environment so that young entrepreneurs with creative ideas and passion for startups can freely pursue their dreams and challenges."
