Kakao Games Appoints Han Sang-woo as New CEO
Kakao Games announced on the 6th that it has nominated Han Sang-woo, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), as the new CEO following the expiration of CEO Cho Gye-hyun's term. Han is set to be officially appointed as CEO after going through the board of directors and shareholders' meeting by March.
Han is highly regarded for leading Kakao Games' growth and global expansion by promoting domestic and international investments and business portfolio expansion, based on his deep understanding of the gaming market and global business, as well as many years of rich experience. He has experience in various fields including global business, marketing, data analysis, and investment.
He joined Kakao Games in 2018 after serving as CEO of Neowiz's China subsidiary and Vice President of Global Business, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of InnoGames, and CEO of Tencent Korea.
Han will lead the Renewal Task Force, reviewing necessary tasks for future strategic business plans and discussing practical directions for renewal.
