Senior Yeo members deployed to Nakdonggang belt... "Seo Byeong-su and Kim Tae-ho requested to run in opposition Jeon Jae-su and Kim Du-gwan constituencies"
"Will Devote... Expecting a Stepping Stone for General Election Victory"
"Nakdonggang Belt is a Very Important Area"
The People Power Party has requested senior lawmakers Seo Byung-soo and Kim Tae-ho, both multi-term veterans, to run in the so-called 'Nakdong River Belt' constituencies. This is interpreted as a strategy to send experienced metropolitan government leaders to contested districts held by the opposition party. Although the responses from the two lawmakers have not yet been made public, the so-called 'veteran candidacy in tough districts' trend is gaining momentum.

He explained the reason for the request, saying, "They have conducted their legislative activities with conviction and have supported the party during difficult times. If we can defend and secure the Nakdong River Belt in Gyeongnam, it will have great significance in the general election."
Representative Seo is a five-term lawmaker from Busanjin Gap and a former mayor of Busan. Representative Kim is a three-term lawmaker representing the Sancheong-Hamyang-Geochang-Hapcheon district in Gyeongnam and a former governor of Gyeongnam Province. Both lawmakers have applied for party nominations in their current constituencies.
The People Power Party is observed to be sending these two senior lawmakers, who have administrative experience as former metropolitan government heads and possess name recognition, to 'tough districts' in order to dominate the 'Nakdong River Belt' in this general election. Secretary-General Jang said, "Both lawmakers are multi-term veterans who can win. Having served as mayor of Busan and governor of Gyeongnam, they are competitive wherever they go. I believe voters will sufficiently choose them."
