Asia Economy Kang Jin-hyung Reporter, Winner of the 60th Korea Press Photo Exhibition
Nana Yeongrong Kim (Nana, Kim Yeongrong), who is active as a drag queen, stood in front of a photo displayed at her photo exhibition at The Trinity Gallery in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. In Korea, drag queens are simply known as men dressed as women for performances. However, Nana is a ‘drag artist’ who expresses not only women but also ladybugs, computers, and bubbles through costumes and makeup performances. Nana, who has been on stage since 2007, performs not only in Korea but also overseas in countries such as China and Japan, yet she also faces unfavorable views from people. Behind the glamorous costumes and heavy makeup is a person who, like others, wants to love and be loved.

In the Portrait category, the honorable mention was awarded to Kang Jin-hyung of Asia Economy for 'Love myself' featuring drag queen Nana Yeongrong Kim.
The Korea Press Photo Awards are divided into six categories: News, Sports, Feature, Nature, Portrait, and Story. Over 500 member photographers from newspapers, news agencies, and online media nationwide submitted press photos taken throughout 2023 covering politics, economy, society, culture, sports, and various domestic and international scenes. The winning works were carefully selected by press photographers and external experts.
