DB HiTek Reports Operating Profit of 266.3 Billion KRW Last Year, Down 65.36% YoY
Operating Profit in Q4 Last Year Was 43.1 Billion Won
DB HiTek announced on the 5th that it recorded consolidated sales of 1.1578 trillion KRW and operating profit of 266.3 billion KRW last year. Sales decreased by 30.89% compared to the previous year, and operating profit fell by 65.36%. The operating profit margin last year was 23%.
In the fourth quarter of last year, sales amounted to 28.3 billion KRW, down 28.73% from the same period the previous year. Operating profit decreased by 71.97% to 43.1 billion KRW.
A DB HiTek official explained, "Due to the global economic downturn and sluggish demand in upstream industries, the recovery of the semiconductor foundry market has been delayed, resulting in a decline in performance compared to the previous year," adding, "we plan to strengthen competitiveness by increasing the technology gap in power semiconductors, expanding the proportion of automotive applications, and enlarging the portfolio of high value-added and high-growth products such as gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC), which are emerging as next-generation power semiconductors."
DB HiTek is also committed to establishing a sustainable management system. The company announced a management innovation plan last December focused on improving corporate governance and strengthening shareholder-friendly policies. The main points include enhancing board independence by separating the CEO and chairman roles, and returning more than 30% of net profit to shareholders through share buybacks and cancellations, as well as dividends.
