The final round of the tournament, scheduled to be held on the 4th (local time) at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, USA (par 72, 6,972 yards), was postponed by one day due to heavy rain. The last round will take place from 8 a.m. on the 5th. It is a designated premium event starting this year. The winner's prize money is a whopping $3.6 million (about 4.8 billion KRW). Only 80 players compete, and the winner is decided without a cut-off. Even the last place, 80th, receives $32,000 (about 42.83 million KRW) in prize money.
Last year's major tournament US Open champion Wyndham Clark (USA) led by one stroke through the third round (17 under par, 199 strokes). In particular, he showed incredible power in the third round by recording 2 eagles and 9 birdies (1 bogey). A score of 60 is the course record at Pebble Beach. The previous record was 61, set by Hurley Long (USA) in the 2017 college tournament Camel Cup. Among professional players, four have recorded 62 strokes, including Tom Kite in 1983 and David Duval in 1997 (both USA).
