Once again, various events will be held to help residents prepare happily for the holiday at Seongbuk-gu's traditional markets.
Jeongneung Market will host a Bukjangu performance and an Airball prize exchange event on February 2nd, and to express gratitude to customers visiting the market in the cold weather, a ‘Tea Sharing’ event will be held.
Gireum Market will hold a payback event for Onnuri gift certificates, a dumpling shaping contest, and a rice cake pounding event from February 3rd to February 6th.

Seongbuk-gu Office has stepped up to ensure the safety of market merchants and customers. From the 23rd to the 25th, joint fire inspections with experts were conducted while touring traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts.
The district also conducted expert joint safety inspections targeting traditional markets at the end of last year, and through this safety inspection, it is working to create a flawless and safe environment for market use.
Additionally, on the 29th, a meeting was held chaired by the mayor with traditional market merchant association presidents and Seongbuk Fire Station officials to discuss fire prevention in traditional markets. They promised to continuously strengthen safety management through mutual cooperation. Furthermore, each store will keep a ‘Safety Inspection Checklist’ so that merchants can carefully check to prevent fire hazards themselves, with the market merchant association actively overseeing this.
