[Concall] Samsung Electro-Mechanics "Q1 Sales Expected to Increase... Performance to Grow This Year"
On the 31st, Samsung Electro-Mechanics stated during a conference call following the announcement of its fourth-quarter results for last year, "Despite the seasonal weakness in IT set demand in the first quarter, we expect overall sales to grow compared to the previous quarter due to the launch of new flagship smartphones by major domestic and international clients and the expansion of supply for industrial and automotive sectors."
They added, "This year, demand in set sectors such as PCs, smartphones, and servers is expected to recover compared to the previous year. The rise of generative AI is influencing the high-specification trend in smartphones and PCs, leading to increased demand for high-value-added products like MLCCs and package substrates. Although growth in the automotive market has somewhat slowed due to the electric vehicle sector, the high-growth trend continues, resulting in increased demand for automotive MLCCs, camera modules, and package substrates, which will drive our performance growth compared to last year."
