Yeongdeungpo-gu Hosts Even More Abundant Seol Holiday Community Market
On the 30th at 9 AM, District Office Plaza to Host 'Eoullim Market' for Lunar New Year... Sale of Agricultural and Marine Products, Specialties, and Holiday Hangwa from 15 Traditional Markets and Sister Cities... Reducing Shopping Burden with Excellent Quality and Reasonable Prices
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will open the ‘Eoullim Market’ at 9 a.m. on the 30th in the plaza in front of the district office to celebrate the traditional Korean holiday, Seollal.
Consumer prices are fluctuating ahead of Seollal, with costs for setting up the ancestral rites table rising compared to last year. In response, the district has prepared the ‘Eoullim Market,’ where residents can purchase excellent local specialties and holiday ritual items at reasonable prices. This aims to help residents prepare economically for the holiday and revitalize the local economy, which is struggling due to the economic downturn.
So far, the ‘Eoullim Market’ has received great responses by offering consumers high-quality products at fair prices, while providing traditional market merchants and local producers with stable sales channels and increased income.
Especially this time, the ‘Eoullim Market’ has become even more abundant as merchants from Yeongdeungpo traditional markets and Yeongdeungpo fruit and vegetable market, as well as merchants from 15 markets in regions that have friendship and cooperation agreements with the district, are participating together.
Freshly harvested agricultural products will be showcased directly from Goseong in Gyeongnam and Chungju in Chungbuk. In addition, visitors can find excellent local specialties and verified seasonal products such as squid from Ulleungdo, dried yellow corvina from Yeonggwang, salted seafood from Buan, traditional Korean sweets (Hangwa) from Goheung, Korean beef (Hanwoo) from Cheongyang, and yogurt from Hongseong.
Moreover, various products and foods from local traditional markets, including rice cakes (tteok), Hangwa, perilla oil, and seasonal fruits, will also be available.
Furthermore, the district will lead environmental protection by minimizing the use of disposable plastic bags and will hold a ‘Reusable Shopping Bag Giveaway Event.’ Customers who bring receipts showing purchases of 30,000 won or more to the main booth on the day will receive an eco-friendly shopping bag.
