Resolution of Traffic Issues at Gasan Digital Complex Station, Expectation for Improvement of Geumcheon-gu Metropolitan Transportation Network
On the 25th, Geumcheon-gu announced that 'Gasan Digital Complex Station' in Geumcheon-gu has been included in the 'GTX-D' line of the metropolitan area high-speed railway (GTX) plan announced by the government.
Yoo Seong-hoon, mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "The inclusion of Gasan Digital Complex Station on the 'GTX-D' line is expected to greatly help not only in resolving the transportation issues of Gasan Digital Complex Station but also in improving the metropolitan transportation network of Geumcheon-gu, and we actively welcome this."
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the metropolitan area high-speed railway (GTX) plan, which includes the government’s route proposal and implementation measures, at the 'Public Discussion on Livelihood Issues with the People' presided over by the President on the same day.
The 'GTX-D' line passing through Geumcheon-gu is planned in a 'double Y' shape connecting Gimpo and Incheon to Paldang and Wonju. It is reflected in the 5th National Railway Network Construction Plan, which is being promoted with the goal of official announcement in 2025, aiming to pass the preliminary feasibility study within the President’s term and to open by 2035 at an accelerated pace.
