Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) China Representative Office held a shipping company meeting on the 25th at the Gubei Conference Hall in Shanghai, jointly with the Incheon Port Authority (IPA) Shanghai Representative Office.
The event was attended by representatives from 13 major national shipping companies in Shanghai, and BPA and IPA explained the 2023 cargo volume and key achievements, as well as the main business plans for 2024.
BPA presented last year's record-high cargo handling performance, the completion of the country's first fully automated terminal, the progress of the smart logistics center, and the results of the selection of tenant companies for the hinterland complex of the 'con' terminal.
They also introduced the status of logistics centers being constructed and operated at major overseas logistics hubs such as East Java in Indonesia, Rotterdam, and Barcelona, as well as logistics support activities tailored to companies.
In addition, they listened to various opinions and response measures from national shipping companies regarding changes in the shipping market caused by external factors such as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, the Red Sea situation, and restrictions on Panama Canal transit, as well as the reorganization of shipping alliances.
