MoEF 'University Student Reporters' Launch Ceremony... Choi Sang-mok "Expecting Fresh Perspectives"
17th Term Official Activities Begin
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 24th that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 2024 Ministry of Economy and Finance University Student Social Media Reporters at the Government Seoul Office.
Since 2008, the Ministry has selected about 20 university students annually to operate a social media reporter group, aiming to deliver major economic policies to the public in an easy and vivid manner through social network services (SNS).
The 17th university student reporter group selected this time consists of a total of 25 members, including 3 in the video coverage field. They were finally selected from a total of 101 applicants through document screening and interviews at the end of last year. The activity period is until the end of this year.

View original imageThe reporters will not only convey major policies announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance to the general public but also cover voices from the field through attending various events hosted by the Ministry and accompanying ministers and vice ministers on site visits for on-the-spot reporting.
This inauguration ceremony was organized to award appointment letters to the university student reporters and encourage active participation before their full-scale activities begin this year.

Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, in his encouragement speech, evaluated the role of the university student reporters as important promotional partners to effectively communicate the government’s economic policies to the public in the changed media environment, and urged them to inform the public about economic policies in an easy and enjoyable way with fresh perspectives and methods unique to university students.
