Yoon In-chon: "We Must Lead Artistic Development and Enhance Status"
Min In-gi, Artistic Director and Permanent Conductor of the Gangneung City Choir, was appointed as the Director and Artistic Director of the National Choir Foundation on the 24th. The term is three years, until January 2027. Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, urged, "Based on your extensive experience and expertise accumulated not only in academia but also in the field, please contribute to the artistic development and enhancement of the status of the National Choir."
Newly appointed Director and Artistic Director Min graduated from the Composition Department of Yonsei University College of Music. He earned a master's degree in choral conducting from New York University and pursued a doctoral program in choral conducting at the University of Southern California (USC). From 1995 to 2009, he served as a professor in the Department of Music at Honam Theological University. Afterwards, he also worked as a professor at Dankook University College of Music, dedicating himself to nurturing future talents. He expanded his expertise as a choral music specialist by serving as Artistic Director for over 20 years at the Suwon City Choir, Ulsan City Choir, and Gangneung City Choir.
