Changwon Fire Headquarters Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for Quality Management of Cardiac Arrest Patient Survival Rates
The Changwon Fire Headquarters in Gyeongnam achieved the highest national excellence in the ‘Cardiac Arrest Patient Survival Rate Quality Management’ category in the 2023 119 Ambulance Service Quality Management evaluation conducted by the National Fire Agency.

View original imageAccording to the Fire Headquarters on the 23rd, the 119 Ambulance Service Quality Management evaluation is conducted targeting fire headquarters in 19 cities and provinces. This year, the highest national excellence was awarded in the ‘Cardiac Arrest Patient Survival Rate Quality Management’ category, which received the best evaluation.
The Cardiac Arrest Patient Survival Rate Quality Management category evaluates the number of patients who recovered spontaneous circulation among those eligible for automated external defibrillator attachment by the ambulance team. Changwon Fire Headquarters achieved a 70% rate, was selected as the top institution nationwide in 2023, and received a commendation from the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Thus, Changwon Fire Headquarters demonstrated that it received the best evaluation nationwide by arriving quickly at the scene and providing professional emergency treatment to save cardiac arrest patients.
Last year, Changwon Fire Headquarters saved 61 out of 585 cardiac arrest patients in Changwon City, recording a survival rate of 10.4%.
