Leading High-Paying Jobs in AI Field... Companies Prefer Experienced Professionals
Allicon Announces '2023 RocketPunch Hiring Data'
Highest Paying Job Category: AI Data Science
Last year, AI-related job sectors showed higher salary levels compared to other sectors. Allicon revealed the results of a 2023 recruitment market survey conducted on the career network platform 'RocketPunch' on the 23rd. RocketPunch is an IT startup-focused recruitment platform with over 550,000 cumulative members. The data comes from last year's company job postings and job seeker usage status.
According to RocketPunch recruitment data, the top job sector offering annual salaries exceeding 100 million KRW last year was 'Data Science,' a field within AI. Following were AI platform developers and blockchain service planners. This is interpreted as a result of the rapid rise of AI and data-related markets, increasing demand for related personnel.
Among job seekers using RocketPunch, interest in AI companies was also high. Digital asset financial platform company 'PeerTech' ranked first with the highest number of 870 applicants, followed by data solution company 'TenQube' and knowledge-sharing platform company 'Classting,' attracting 694 and 612 applicants respectively, reflecting their popularity.
The results also showed that active job searching is important to increase employment success rates. Analyzing a total of 50,000 job applications submitted through RocketPunch last year, the average number of applications submitted by successful candidates was 15.8, nearly twice the average of 8.6 applications submitted by all job seekers.
Amid the economic downturn, the IT startup sector has shown a clearer trend of favoring experienced hires over new recruits. The proportion of new hires dropped sharply from 9.2% in 2021 to 2.7% in 2023. Some companies tended to verify the capabilities of new personnel through internships or contract positions before converting them to full-time employees. This is interpreted as a hiring strategy by companies to minimize personnel risks.
