View original imageSeodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will hold a direct transaction market for the Lunar New Year on the 25th and 26th of this month (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at the district office plaza, selling over 300 kinds of agricultural, livestock, fishery products, and holiday essentials at prices cheaper than market value.
The event will feature participation from 28 cities and counties nationwide, including Seodaemun-gu’s sister and friendly cooperative cities such as Geumsan, Asan, Yeonggwang, Yeongdong, Wanju, Jangheung, and Jeju, as well as Gangneung, Naju, Seogwipo, Yeongwol, Wando, Inje, Chuncheon, Taean, and Hadong.
The product lineup includes Korean beef, fruits, Hangwa (traditional Korean sweets), ginseng, dried yellow corvina, wild greens, dried seafood, seaweed, salted seafood, pickled vegetables, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste), sesame oil, wine, and more, allowing customers to prepare well for the Lunar New Year. Free gift wrapping service will be provided to the first 50 visitors each day. At the direct transaction market, producers and producer groups sell local specialties directly without middle distribution processes, ensuring affordability and freshness.
