Plans Weekly Site Inspections of Major Construction Sites, Station Facilities, and Vehicle Depots
President Baekho: "Based on Strong Commitment to On-Site Safety Management, We Will Achieve 'Zero Major Accidents' for Three Consecutive Years"
Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, is showing efforts to strengthen on-site administration.
On the 18th, President Baekho visited the site of the installation of the ‘forced exhaust facility’ at Jongno 5-ga Station on Subway Line 1 and conducted on-site inspections for safety management centered on the field.
Earlier this year, after announcing the ‘Comprehensive Measures for Subway Ultrafine Dust,’ President Baekho, who is making company-wide efforts to improve subway air quality, visited Jongno 5-ga Station where the forced exhaust facility was installed to check the status of air quality reduction analysis and the safety of the exhaust fans.
He also inspected the interior of the station and major facilities while listening to the opinions of on-site staff.
President Baekho and heads of various departments have been conducting on-site inspections to prevent safety accidents and serious disasters, starting with a visit to the installation site of convenience facilities on the platform at Bokjeong Station on Subway Line 8 on the 11th.
Going forward, they plan to visit major construction sites, station facilities, and vehicle depots once a week as a principle, encouraging on-site staff and checking for any blind spots in safety to prevent serious disasters.
President Baekho said, “Based on the strong will of the management for safety management centered on the field, we will achieve ‘zero serious disasters’ for the third consecutive year in 2024,” and added, “We will continue our efforts to ensure the safety of all our employees and citizens through ongoing on-site inspections.”
