People Power Party, All Party Branch Chiefs Resign... "Measure for Nomination Fairness"
The People Power Party has passed a resolution for the resignation of all party district committee chairpersons nationwide.
Park Jeong-ha, the chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, stated to reporters after the emergency committee meeting on the morning of the 18th, "A resolution for the resignation of 207 district committee chairpersons has been passed."
According to the party regulations of the People Power Party, district committee chairpersons must resign from their positions to ensure the fairness of internal primaries when running for public office.
District committee chairpersons, including incumbent lawmakers, have access to the membership list of party members participating in the selection of local candidates within the party. In contrast, political newcomers who are not district committee chairpersons do not have access to the membership list.
