North Korea Abolishes Kumgangsan International Tourism Bureau... Restructuring Inter-Korean Organizations
Supreme People's Assembly Convened, Abolishing the Inter-Korean Organization Chopyeongtong
North Korea has abolished the inter-Korean organizations, the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, the National Economic Cooperation Bureau, and the Mount Kumgang International Tourism Bureau.
On the 15th, North Korea held the 10th session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly, the equivalent of South Korea's National Assembly, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang, where this decision was made, according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 16th.
The meeting decided to abolish these organizations that existed for inter-Korean dialogue, negotiations, and cooperation, stating, "The Cabinet and relevant agencies will establish practical measures to implement this decision."
The meeting asserted, "South Korea, which has adopted 'absorption unification' and 'system unification' as national policies, sharply contradicting our long-standing reunification line based on one nation, one country, and two systems over nearly 80 years, can never achieve unification."
