This event was the first livelihood communication event held this year, designed to directly hear vivid and on-site stories from residents in the area and actively reflect them in city administration.
The event began with an introduction to the city’s top 10 key achievements from last year, followed by a policy briefing on Pohang City’s three major strategies for this year: expanding future value, enhancing livelihood vitality, and improving urban dignity. Key focus projects such as the establishment of a secondary battery business mega cluster, creation of new industrial complexes, and the establishment of POSTECH Medical School were also presented.
The subsequent dialogue session, chaired by Mayor Lee Kang-deok, provided an opportunity to listen to various suggestions and opinions from residents of the Gyeongje area. Questions mainly related to residents’ convenience, such as agriculture, roads, and rivers, were exchanged, and the event concluded with responses to these inquiries.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok stated, “This year as well, we will prioritize communication with citizens and conduct city administration that listens to the voices of the people. Since citizens’ interest and cooperation are the driving forces for regional development, we will continue to strengthen on-site administration and think more deeply for the lives of residents.”
