"How About Sharing Instead of Owning"...Jongno-gu, Official Cars and Tool Rentals
Free Tool Rental for 3 Days at Dong Resident Center
Space Rental Available via Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Gongyoonuri
Eco-Friendly Electric Vehicles Used by District Office During Work Hours
Shared Vehicle Service for Idle Times Also Attracts Attention
Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) is gaining positive responses by promoting various sharing and rental projects to discourage unnecessary consumption and provide convenience to residents.
From idle spaces within the community service centers to vehicles and tools, Jongno-gu focuses on efficiently utilizing various resources it owns and manages to enhance residents' convenience.
First, the community service centers in Jongno-gu lend household tools that are not frequently used and expensive specialized tools free of charge to residents and workers at local businesses.
The rental period is three days, and applicants must bring an ID card and visit the community service center to submit an application form. It is necessary to check by phone in advance whether the desired tool is available.
Additionally, meeting rooms, auditoriums, and community center classrooms at the community service centers can also be used for resident gatherings and other purposes.
Applications are accepted through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Gongyu Nuri’ platform. The Marronnier Park multipurpose hall and outdoor performance venue are also available for rental after screening.
The shared vehicle service provided in partnership with SOCAR is also noteworthy. The eco-friendly electric vehicles are used by the district office during business hours and rented out to residents on weekday evenings, weekends, and holidays.
To use the service, residents apply via the SOCAR application and receive approval by contacting the district office website or the Administrative Support Division. After approval, vehicles can be rented and returned at the district office’s ground parking lot.
