People Power Party recruits 'science and legal experts' Irena, Kang Cheol-ho, and Jeon Sang-beom
The People Power Party's Talent Recruitment Committee announced on the 12th that it has recruited three individuals at its 8th meeting: Professor Irena, former professor of the Department of Medical Engineering at Ewha Womans University Graduate School of Medicine, Kang Cheol-ho, chairman of the Korea Robot Industry Association, and Jeon Sang-beom, former chief judge of the Uijeongbu District Court.
Regarding Professor Irena, the People Power Party stated, "She is an outstanding talent in the female medical and engineering fields, having earned her master's and doctorate degrees in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, and is conducting research on the development of commercialized medical device products." They added, "She is a scientific talent with experience in filing 91 patents." Professor Irena founded Remedi Co., Ltd., a company manufacturing portable medical devices, and served as its CEO until recently.
Assemblyman Jo Jeong-hoon said, "She was recruited as a talent to work together on nurturing female talents in science and engineering in Korea and establishing bio-healthcare policies based on her expertise."

View original imageKang Cheol-ho, chairman of the Korea Robot Industry Association, is a former diplomat who served as CEO of Hyundai Robotics. Assemblyman Jo explained, "As a capable professional manager in the global science and technology field, he will play a significant role in promoting the stable development of Korea's robot industry," and added, "He was recruited as a talent to utilize his excellent field experience and know-how accumulated so far in the robot industry, which will be central in the upcoming era of the 5th Industrial Revolution."
Jeon Sang-beom, former chief judge of the Uijeongbu District Court, was selected as an outstanding judge by the Bar Association for his leniency toward the vulnerable and firm rulings against heinous criminals. He is also the grandson of independence activist Jeon Jong-gwan. The People Power Party said, "During his tenure as a judge, he was a young and upright judge who received praise from the legal community for his thoughtful judgments and fair rulings," and added, "He is a reform-minded judge who always leads in standing with the vulnerable and will play a significant role in legislative activities focusing on victim protection."
