Training Assuming Disaster Situations at Temples
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 11th that it has been selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years in the evaluation of the 'Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The drill was conducted assuming actual disaster situations such as wildfires at temples holding numerous national heritage sites, including Tongdosa Temple in Yangsan, and received an excellent rating.
An official from the Cultural Heritage Administration explained, "The active deployment of disaster management resources such as waterproof sheets and fire-retardant fabrics in the drill contributed to the high score." He added, "We will continue to improve the disaster response system and strengthen our response capabilities to wind and flood disasters, which have been rapidly increasing due to recent climate change."
