Hyundai Card Launches 'Annual Statement 2023' Service Analyzing Consumer Spending Patterns
Interesting Consumer Life Insights
Featuring Unique Payment Life Analysis such as 'Days Without Spending' and 'Frequency of Using Simple Payment'
Hyundai Card announced on the 11th that it will launch the report service "Annual Statement 2023," which analyzes members' spending patterns from last year.
The Annual Statement is a report that interestingly compiles insights into individual members' consumption habits by analyzing payment data from the past year. It is designed to help users easily understand their spending patterns and lifestyles through data analysis, which are difficult to grasp from monthly statements alone. Since its launch in 2021, more than 2.2 million members used the service last year alone.
This year's Annual Statement adopts the recently popular contactless payment method. To enhance customer experience with contactless payments, Hyundai Card uses an interactive approach where the member’s credit card image is dragged onto a terminal-shaped image to reveal the report.
The Annual Statement provides story cards summarizing customers’ card usage with intuitive graphics and messages. This year’s story cards include distinctive analyses such as the "Offline E vs Online I Payment Ratio," which compares face-to-face and non-face-to-face payment ratios to MBTI types, "Mileage Accumulated Over One Year," showing benefits received throughout the year, and "Days Without Spending," indicating days when the card was not used, allowing members to review their payment habits.
In line with the recent trend of increased use of simple payment methods, the frequency of simple payment service usage is included in the story cards. Users can check how much they paid via Apple Pay or Samsung Pay last year and which merchants they used most frequently.
The detailed report provides monthly payment details over the year, card benefits received such as point accumulation and discounts, and the top five most frequently used merchants and business sectors. Users can also view past annual statements from 2020 to 2023, enabling comparison of card usage over the last four years. Customers who consent to linking their "My Assets (MyData)" receive even more information, including usage amounts by card company and an overview of all their asset management status, such as unused cards and accounts.
