Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was hospitalized after being stabbed with a weapon, was discharged on the 10th. Lee said, "The life saved by the people, I will live the rest of my life solely for the people," adding, "We must now end this war-like politics where we have to kill and eliminate the opponent."
At the time of his discharge from Seoul National University Hospital, Lee delivered a message to the public. He said, "The people saved me," and "I will surely create a world where we live together, a country where everyone is happy and dreams of hope, to repay you."

He said, "I would like to thank the firefighters and police of Busan and the medical staff at Busan National University who saved my life with appropriate and prompt emergency measures in a critical situation where life and death were at stake," and "I am also grateful to the medical staff at Seoul National University Hospital who did their best from surgery to treatment." Earlier, after the stabbing, Lee received emergency treatment and was transferred to Seoul National University Hospital by doctor helicopter. During this process, there was controversy over allegedly disregarding local medical staff.
Announcing his safe discharge, Lee said, "If politics based on respect and coexistence is restored and we can move forward together to a hopeful country, what would it matter if my remaining life were gone?" and "I sincerely thank the people once again."

Lee was stabbed in the neck by a man named Kim during a visit to Busan on the 2nd. Lee is known to be continuing treatment at home after discharge.
