"A Mom Was Kidnapped" - A Man in His 30s Made 5 False Reports While Drunk... Will Face Fines from Now On
Police Repeat Dispatch and Return Five Times
A woman in her 30s who repeatedly made false reports to the police claiming "my mother has been kidnapped" while intoxicated was eventually arrested.
The Ansan Danwon Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 10th that they had arrested a woman in her 30s, identified as Ms. A, on charges of violating the Minor Offenses Act. Ms. A is accused of making five false calls to 112 over approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, from around 3:00 a.m. to 4:20 a.m. on the same day, each time claiming "my mother has been kidnapped."
Upon receiving the initial report, the police dispatched officers to Ms. A's residence in Danwon-gu, where she lived alone, but found the report to be false. The police issued a warning to Ms. A and returned. However, Ms. A made four more false reports with similar content afterward.
The police responded to each call by dispatching officers to the scene and returning five times in total to prepare for any possible situation. Eventually, at the time of the fifth report, Ms. A was arrested. During the police investigation, she reportedly stated that her motive was that she was angry after having an argument with her mother.
