Samsung Securities Recommends 'Samsung Global Semiconductor Fund'
Investment Effects of 4th Industrial Revolution Technologies such as AI and Metaverse
On the 9th, Samsung Securities announced that it is currently selling the 'Samsung Global Semiconductor Fund,' which invests in semiconductor companies, the core technology of the 4th industrial revolution, including cloud computing, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence (AI), and the metaverse (extended virtual world).
This fund is expected to provide the effect of investing in various 4th industrial revolution themes through diversified investment in global semiconductor companies. The demand for semiconductors is also increasing due to the expansion of semiconductor investments by major IT companies, the surge in data centers, the increase in electric and autonomous vehicles, and the entry into the AI and metaverse era.
The 'Samsung Global Semiconductor Fund' includes major global semiconductor companies such as American semiconductor firms like Nvidia and AMD, as well as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, TSMC, and Sony. It primarily targets companies in the memory, non-memory, fabless, foundry, and semiconductor equipment sectors.
The fund holds approximately 20 to 30 stocks within its universe. It offers a currency-hedged (H) type to avoid currency risk and a currency-exposed (UH) type that is exposed to currency risk, allowing investors to choose according to their investment objectives.
As of the end of September 2023, based on stock assets, the top holdings are Broadcom at 8.1%, Nvidia at 7.8%, Intel at 7.6%, and ASML at 6.2%. By country, the distribution is 65.9% in the United States, 8.8% in Europe, 7.1% in Korea, and 3.2% in Japan.
A Samsung Securities official stated, "With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution and the development of various fields, semiconductor demand is expected to surge rapidly. If you want to ride the structural growth of the semiconductor industry, the Samsung Global Semiconductor Fund will be a good investment tool."
