The "Golf Emperor" Tiger Woods (USA) has parted ways with Nike.
On the 8th (local time), he announced through his social media (SNS) that he had decided to end his 27-year partnership with Nike. Woods said, "It was a fortune to be with the global brand Nike 27 years ago," adding, "It is filled with unforgettable moments and memories," and expressed his gratitude, saying, "I was happy to receive help from the best staff."

Woods first connected with Nike in 1996. With Nike's support, he achieved a total of 82 wins on the PGA Tour, tying for the most wins, including 15 major championships. Nike had a brand line named ‘TW’ after his initials. Especially, he appeared wearing black pants and a red shirt on the final day of every tournament.
Woods used Nike golf clubs and golf balls until 2016. After Nike withdrew from the golf equipment business, he carried TaylorMade clubs and Bridgestone golf balls in his caddie bag. Even then, he wore only Nike apparel. In December last year, rumors of a breakup surfaced when he wore FootJoy golf shoes instead of Nike's at the PNC Championship. When asked by reporters whether he would renew his 10-year contract with Nike, which expires in 2023, he only replied, "I am still wearing those products."
