Gwangju Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation, Continuous Donations for Local Talent Development Scholarships
As the New Year begins, donations for scholarships to nurture local talent are continuously being made to the Gwangju Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Park Chan-gap).
On the 8th, Jung Ji-woon, the 30th president of Gwangju YWCA, donated 20 million won, followed by 5 million won from the Korea Asset Management Corporation Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters (Head Kim Yong-hoon), 5 million won from the Dongcheon-Yudeok Business Exchange Council (Chairman Kim Yong-ho), and a total of 12.5 million won from nine member companies (Shinkwang Sealing Co., Ltd., Dongyang Steel Gwangju Distributor, Rio Trading Co., Ltd., OK Hardware Co., Ltd., Dongyoung Industry Co., Ltd., Yoomyung Enterprise Co., Ltd., Taemok General Construction Co., Ltd., Jungwon Cubicle Co., Ltd., and Woosoo Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.) donated to the Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation.
Gwangju YWCA donated a talent development scholarship to the Seogu Scholarship Foundation.

In particular, the Dongcheon-Yudeok Business Exchange Council and its member companies have cumulatively donated over 180 million won to the Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation from 2015 to this year.
Park Chan-gap, chairman of the Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation, said, “We are grateful to everyone who has donated to the scholarship foundation despite the recent difficult economic conditions. We will do our best to discover and nurture local talents who will lead the future through the scholarship foundation and ensure this contributes to regional development.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Seo-gu Scholarship Foundation has been promoting scholarship projects to nurture talents needed by the local community. Since its establishment in October 2015, it has raised 6.4 billion won in scholarship funds and has selected scholarship recipients annually since 2016, providing scholarships totaling over 820 million won to 780 students so far.
