Andong-si to Operate Pediatric and Adolescent Emergency Medical Institutions During Nighttime Holidays This Year
365 Days 24 Hours Pediatric and Adolescent Emergency Room Open
Andong City (Mayor Kwon Ki-chang) is operating a '365 days 24 hours Pediatric and Adolescent Emergency Room' at Andong Hospital this year, allowing pediatric and adolescent emergency treatment to be available during nighttime and holidays.
Through this emergency room operation, ▲basic emergency medical services will be provided to pediatric patients during nighttime and holidays, and ▲overcrowding at higher-level hospitals such as pediatric specialized emergency centers will be prevented.
For this project, Gyeongsangbuk-do is investing 300 million KRW, Andong City 600 million KRW, and Andong Hospital will bear 600 million KRW to operate a dedicated pediatric and adolescent specialist emergency room in the northern Gyeongbuk region.
The pediatric and adolescent emergency room at Andong Hospital is staffed with three pediatric specialist doctors and eight pediatric emergency nurses. A separate space for pediatric and adolescent emergency treatment has been prepared within the emergency room, and it has been operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since January of this year.
Andong Hospital is responsible for emergency treatment with specialized medical staff in pediatric emergency, pediatric cardiology, pediatric respiratory, pediatric gastroenterology, and pediatric allergy, equipped with three pediatric beds within the regional emergency medical center, 41 pediatric-only inpatient beds, and special examination rooms such as pediatric echocardiography.
