20 Members of University Student Group Detained Attempting to Enter Yongsan Presidential Office

Charged with Special Trespassing and Unreported Assembly, etc.
Members of the Korean University Students Progressive Union (Daejinyeon) were detained by police while attempting to enter the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul.
According to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 6th, 20 members of Daejinyeon were arrested on the spot around 1:10 PM on charges including trespassing in a specially designated building and holding an unreported assembly.

At around 1 PM, they gathered in front of the Yongsan Presidential Office, shouting slogans such as "Special investigation on Kim Geon-hee" and requested a meeting with the Presidential Office, then attempted to enter the Presidential Office through the old Ministry of National Defense's west gate and fences.
Access to the inside of the Presidential Office is strictly controlled, and only those with access passes are allowed entry.
A police official told New Daily in an interview, "Members of Daejinyeon suddenly rushed in through the vehicle checkpoint toward the building," adding, "Initially, four people broke in, followed by an additional four later."
Besides those who attempted to enter, the police also detained the remaining members who continued the unreported assembly. The commotion caused by Daejinyeon members entering the Presidential Office building ended around 1:20 PM.
