This curriculum was developed by selecting the 'K-Culture' content industry and innovation business industry as regional specialized industries through an analysis of Jongno-gu’s industries, where traditional culture and future industries coexist, and university infrastructure analysis. It is a systematically structured curriculum aimed at improving job competencies in information search and management and problem-solving by understanding and utilizing digital technologies.
The related departments participating in this project include the Global Hotel Tourism Department linked to the K-Culture content industry, the Culinary Department (K-Food major), the Digital Content Design Department (Visual Media major, Video Media major), the Smart Management Department (Data Management major, Office Administration Service major) linked to the innovation business industry, and the Tax Accounting Department.
In the course ‘Digital Communication Literacy,’ students learn digital business communication methods to enhance effective communication skills and interpersonal abilities. The ‘Digital Changjik Mind Literacy’ course plans to cultivate effective entrepreneurship and job creation information skills based on an understanding of digital transformation business trends.
In particular, ‘Digital Changjik Mind Literacy’ is a course that is difficult to find development cases for and was planned to actively promote job creation education in response to rapidly changing social changes. The developed curriculum will be offered from the 2024 academic year as a basic vocational course for students majoring in Baewha Women’s University HiVE regional specialized fields, and a future convergence track system matching two courses with innovative job roles by department will be operated.
The HiVE project, led by the Ministry of Education and operated by the National Research Foundation of Korea, aims to establish a cooperative system between junior colleges and basic local governments to foster talent in regional specialized fields and promote regional social innovation.
