Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon: "In 2024, We Will Completely Transform Seoul"
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon announced that he will drastically transform Seoul this year through the 'Attractive City Seoul Grand Renovation Strategy.'
In his greeting at the 2024 Seoul New Year's Meeting held on the 5th at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Conference Hall, Mayor Oh said, "We will continue to practice 'walking together with the vulnerable' for the livelihood of the people."

View original imageHe continued, "This year, the cold wave of livelihood difficulties is expected to be severe," adding, "Through the 'Attractive City Seoul Grand Renovation Strategy,' we will radically change the entire city of Seoul?from urban space design, lifestyle, industrial economy, to transportation infrastructure."
Mayor Oh cited the World Happiness Report, stating, "Our country's happiness index ranks 57th worldwide, the lowest among OECD member countries," and emphasized, "We must enhance Seoul's urban competitiveness to become a city where people, capital, and jobs gather, and that overflows with imagination and vitality."
Regarding the 'Attractive City Seoul Grand Renovation Strategy,' Mayor Oh said, "We will elevate the Han River into a world-class tourist landmark," and stressed, "We will develop Seoul into a 'Fun City' full of sights and activities throughout all four seasons."
Mayor Oh also introduced innovations in public transportation such as the 'Climate Companion Card' and 'Han River Reverb,' as well as Seoul's new city brand 'Seoul My Soul' and Seoul's signature color 'Sky Coral.' He promised to expand and implement representative policies of 'walking together with the vulnerable' in four major areas supporting livelihoods: 'Safe Income,' 'Seoul Run,' and 'High-Quality Rental Housing' for livelihood, housing, education, and medical care.
