On the 5th, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had sent Dr. Yeom, a doctor in his 40s, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office under arrest on charges of administering narcotics for non-medical purposes (violation of the Narcotics Control Act).
Dr. Yeom is accused of prescribing narcotics such as propofol for non-treatment purposes to the 20-year-old driver Shin, who caused the accident, at his clinic on August 2nd of last year.
During the investigation of Dr. Yeom's mobile phone, the police discovered evidence of illegal filming of about ten women under anesthesia and sexual assault of some patients.
The police also plan to conduct an interview and send driver Shin to prosecution soon on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances).
