Opening of Gwangju Buk-gu 'Dahamtogether Care Center Branch 10 Munheung'
Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is strengthening child care services without discrimination to address the care gap for elementary school students in the area.
According to the district on the 4th, the ‘Dahamnkke Care Center No. 10 Munheung’ was established in December last year and will be fully operational from the new year.
The Dahamnkke Care Center is a welfare institution established as part of the Dahamnkke Care Project, which aims to provide customized care services to elementary school students in need of care regardless of their parents’ income level, utilizing public facilities in the area.
The newly opened Buk-gu Dahamnkke Care Center No. 10 is located in the former ‘Bokjiaesup Small Library’ in the commercial building of Daeju Apartment in Munheung-dong (418 Seoharo, Room 202).
Buk-gu previously finalized the location for Dahamnkke Care Center No. 10 through a public recruitment and selection review process, successfully completed a free lease agreement with the building owner, and began construction in July last year.
Subsequently, with a total project cost of 70 million KRW, a 34-pyeong (approximately 112.4 square meters) care center was created, including activity spaces, cooking areas, and office spaces, and in November, a private consignment contract was signed with the non-profit organization ‘Sarangae Care Social Cooperative’.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays during the school term, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays during vacation periods. During operating hours, children receive snacks along with ‘common programs’ such as academic guidance and physical activities, as well as special programs including board games and cooking activities.
