Inha University Obtains Certification from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Institutional Review Board
Inha University recently announced on the 4th that it has obtained certification from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Institutional Review Board aims to ensure bioethics and safety by reviewing, guiding, supervising, and educating on ethical and safety issues that arise when conducting research involving humans or human-derived materials.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare implements an evaluation and certification system to enhance the quality of Institutional Review Boards and create an ethical research environment, thereby securing the capability to protect research subjects.
Inha University's Institutional Review Board passed 40 evaluation items and detailed criteria in this assessment, including ▲institution establishment and independence ▲support for the Institutional Review Board ▲composition of the Institutional Review Board ▲operation of the Institutional Review Board ▲roles and functions of the Institutional Review Board, and received certification. The certification is valid for three years, until November 29, 2026.
Inha University established the Institutional Review Board in 2013 in accordance with the Bioethics and Safety Act. It protects the dignity, rights, safety, and welfare of human research subjects and supports the scientific, ethical, and efficient conduct of research within the university.
