Mirae Asset Global Investments' 'TIGER US Nasdaq 100 Covered Call' Ranked No.1 in Annual Distribution Rate Last Year
Mirae Asset Global Investments announced on the 4th that the ‘TIGER US Nasdaq 100 Covered Call (Synthetic) ETF (441680)’ ranked first in the 2023 annual ETF distribution yield.
According to the Korea Securities Depository, the 2023 annual distribution yield of the ‘TIGER US Nasdaq 100 Covered Call (Synthetic) ETF’ was 12.12%, the highest level among all ETFs listed on the Korea Exchange.
The monthly dividend-type ‘TIGER US Nasdaq 100 Covered Call (Synthetic) ETF’ has recorded a monthly distribution yield of around 1% for 15 consecutive months from October 2022, when it started its first distribution after its new listing in September 2022, through December 2023, without missing a single month. This is the longest record among domestic monthly dividend ETFs that pay around 1% monthly dividends.
Interest from individual investors in the ‘TIGER US Nasdaq 100 Covered Call (Synthetic) ETF,’ which has established itself as a leading high-dividend ETF in Korea, is steadily increasing. Amid high interest rates and increased volatility in the global stock market, demand for stable cash flow has risen, and last year, the cumulative net purchase amount by individuals for this ETF reached KRW 156.1 billion, placing it in the top 10 for individual net purchases among all domestic ETFs.
The ‘TIGER US Nasdaq 100 Covered Call (Synthetic) ETF’ is the Korean version of ‘Global X Nasdaq 100 Covered Call (QYLD),’ listed in the US by Global X, Mirae Asset Global Investments’ US ETF subsidiary. ‘QYLD’ has been recognized as a representative income-type ETF in the US with stable monthly dividends for over 10 years. Its net asset size reaches KRW 10 trillion. Based on a covered call strategy that sells call options on the Nasdaq 100 index, which has a high proportion of technology stocks, it provides a stable and high level of cash flow every month.
