Gyeonggi Province is expanding its online cadastral survey data investigation service, ‘Cadastral Survey Data Investigation On-Line,’ from 3 cities/counties to 27 cities/counties this year.

The cadastral survey data investigation is a procedure conducted before the survey to confirm ▲cadastral boundaries and areas ▲survey history ▲methods for determining past cadastral survey results ▲cadastral control point results, enabling surveyors to accurately determine survey outcomes.

Previously, surveyors had to visit the relevant city, county, or district office in person to investigate necessary survey data and land registers, as these were held at the local government offices.

Due to time constraints and travel inconveniences, the data investigation period was prolonged. Unexpected issues such as discrepancies during the on-site survey after the preliminary data investigation often required additional verification of surrounding survey data, frequently causing delays in the survey schedule.

Cadastral surveyors faced difficulties in conducting sufficient cadastral survey data investigations and promptly determining results due to temporal and spatial limitations, which in turn led to a decline in the quality of cadastral administrative services for residents.

Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province collaborated last year with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX) Southern and Northern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters to establish an online cadastral survey data investigation service system and conducted pilot operations in three cities: Yongin, Goyang, and Gimpo.

Based on the pilot operation results, Gyeonggi Province will expand the service to 27 cities/counties excluding Suwon, Gwacheon, Paju, and Dongducheon starting from January this year. Through this, residents are expected to experience shorter cadastral survey processing times and higher satisfaction due to the presentation of accurate cadastral survey results. Additionally, the online data investigation is anticipated to significantly contribute to shortening the project periods of national policy projects such as the cadastral re-survey project and cadastral map maintenance project.

Ko Jung-guk, Director of the Land Information Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through Gyeonggi Province’s proactive administration, we provide high-quality cadastral survey services, greatly contributing to the presentation of accurate survey results, protection of residents’ property rights, and resolution of disputes. We will do our best to ensure stable settlement and nationwide expansion of the service as it grows."
