Professor Donggyu Lee of Dong-A University Appointed as Member of the Presidential Committee on Local Era's 'Authority Transfer and Special Committee'
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced that Professor Lee Dong-kyu of the Graduate School's Disaster Management Department has been appointed as a member of the ‘Authority Transfer and Special Cases Committee’ under the Presidential Commission on the Local Era.
Professor Lee will engage in identifying ‘authority transfer tasks and special cases’ to promote the decentralization of central government powers, which is a key agenda of the Local Era Commission.
He will also participate in the ‘Authority Transfer and Special Cases Committee deliberations’ aimed at enhancing resident convenience and efficiently responding to administrative demands.
Recently, Professor Lee has been actively involved through consecutive appointments as the secretary member of the Government Work Evaluation Committee under the Office for Government Policy Coordination, a member of the National Trauma Center Operations Committee, an internal evaluation member of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and a private expert committee member for improving climate crisis disaster response.

He stated, “Because the disaster safety domain is extensive, it is difficult under current laws to determine the jurisdictional authority when a disaster occurs. Although local governments cannot act as the main agents during disaster management stages, they are still held responsible for failures. I want to contribute to improving this reality, even if only slightly.”
