Revamping for Satellite Broadcast Users
KT Skylife announced on the 3rd that it has revamped its user experience (UX) to optimize customers' content consumption paths.
The core of this revamp is shifting from a structure where customers 'browse' for desired content to one where they 'discover' personalized recommendations. It provides personalized content tailored to customers' preferred genres, favorite keywords, and related search content.
The service also offers high-quality, emotion-based UX by increasing content layout configurations and playing video backgrounds. Various layouts have been implemented depending on the content, including 'tag-type menus' and 'horizontal thumbnails.' Highlight scenes or trailers of promotional works are played in the background to enhance aesthetics and improve customers' information recognition process.
A UX revamp for customers who use satellite broadcasting services without IP connection via the internet is also being carried out simultaneously. Menus such as 'Last Week's Ratings' and 'Currently Hot Channels' have been added, along with information on trending broadcast content. It also provides customer benefit information such as internet and mobile combined discount rates, helping customers reduce their communication expenses.
Additionally, the improved UX environment allows for more convenient enjoyment of global online video services (OTT). Following the existing partnership with Netflix, Skylife has formed alliances this year with Disney Plus and YouTube Premium.

Meanwhile, KT Skylife plans to expand personalized recommendation services for various content and IP-based services such as real-time broadcast channels, VOD, OTT, and YouTube by utilizing AI technology in the future, based on its TPS products that combine satellite broadcasting, internet, and mobile services.
