President Yoon Suk-yeol expressed concern on the 2nd regarding the stabbing of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.
President Yoon expressed deep concern for safety upon hearing the news of Lee's stabbing, President Yoon's spokesperson Kim Soo-kyung conveyed in a written briefing.
Earlier, around 10:27 a.m. that day, Lee was attacked in the neck area with a weapon wielded by an unidentified man estimated to be in his 50s to 60s while continuing to answer questions from reporters at the site of the new airport in Gadeokdo, Gangseo-gu, Busan.
President Yoon instructed the police and related authorities to promptly ascertain the facts and ordered them to do their utmost to support Lee's swift transfer to the hospital and treatment.
