Incheon Airport Corporation Presents Air Tickets and Accommodation Vouchers to First Passengers of the New Year
Incheon International Airport Corporation, together with Korean Air, presented various gifts and a commemorative plaque to the first passenger of the new year.
On the 1st, Incheon Airport Corporation announced that it held the '2024 New Year First Passenger Welcome Event' at the arrival hall of Terminal 2 at Incheon Airport in collaboration with Korean Air.
Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon Airport Corporation, David Peacy, Vice President of Korean Air, and other officials attended the event and presented the first passenger of the new year arriving at Incheon Airport on Korean Air flight KE854 (Beijing→Incheon), Mr. Zhong Yue from China, with a golden commemorative plaque, a round-trip ticket from Korean Air, and a hotel stay voucher for the Grand Hyatt Incheon.
Additionally, the corporation gave small commemorative gifts symbolizing the New Year to all passengers arriving on the same flight.
Meanwhile, with the end of the COVID-19 situation, air travel demand is showing a sharp increase. Last year, the annual passenger volume at Incheon Airport (international + domestic) is estimated to have reached about 56 million, recovering 78.6% compared to 2019 (71.17 million). The corporation expects that, supported by this upward trend, full normalization of air travel demand to 2019 levels will be possible in 2024.

Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon Airport Corporation, stated, "This year, as the fourth phase of Incheon Airport construction, including the expansion of Terminal 2, is scheduled to be completed, we will provide differentiated airport services unique to Incheon Airport to passengers based on the improved airport facilities."
