Busan City Announces Call for Entries for 2024 Busan Culture Billboard Spring Edition Text
From the 1st to 31st, 'Busan Culture Billboard' Text to Inspire Hope and Warmth in Citizens
Original or excerpted Korean text under 25 characters, submissions via website, email, or mail
Busan City is accepting submissions for the spring edition of the 'Busan Culture Billboard' text to be displayed on the exterior wall of the City Hall from the 1st to January 31st.
Since its inception in 2010, the Busan Culture Billboard has been posting meaningful phrases suggested by citizens each season on the City Hall’s exterior wall, thereby infusing a cultural atmosphere into the building and establishing itself as an emotional communication channel with the citizens.
Anyone who loves Busan can participate in the contest. Submissions should be original texts or excerpts from literary works in Korean, containing no more than 25 characters, that convey hope, love, and warm feelings.
Applications can be submitted through the Busan City website (Busan Civil Service 120 - Citizen Participation - Event/Application). Alternatively, applicants may fill out the application form posted in the announcement and submit it via email or postal mail.
However, when submitting excerpts, the source must be clearly indicated.
The winning entries will be finalized through a review by the Korea Writers' Association and, after design work, will be displayed on the City Hall’s exterior wall starting early March.
The grand prize winner will receive a cultural gift certificate worth 300,000 KRW, and 17 runners-up will each receive a cultural gift certificate worth 30,000 KRW.
